The Refuge de Plate is located at the Desert de Plate on top of the cliffs above Plateau d'Assy. It is one of the refuges along the well-known Tour des Fiz trail. There are also beautiful trails in the direction of Flaine and Sixt-Fer-a-Cheval and a steep path taking you down the cliffs in the direction of Plateau d'Assy.

The refuge has a capacity of 34 spread out over 3 dormitories. They will provide blankets and pillows but you will need to bring your own liner. The refuge serves meals to those who booked accommodation and in summer it serves snacks and drinks to visitors. Dogs are not allowed. The refuge has no reliable water source and water has to be used sparingly. They sell bottled water.
