The Col de la Portette is a high mountain pass on the border of the Sixt-Passy natural reserve. It lies below the Point de Plate (2554m). There is one main trail that passes by the Col de la Portette and this is the trail that links the Chalets de Plate and the Refuge de Sales. Both refuges are part of the very popular Tour des Fiz. The views from the Col de la Portette are westwards down towards de Chalets de Plate and eastwards towards the valley that leads to the Refuge de Sales.

We got a detailed trail description for long but absolutely stunning the Tour des Fiz. We also have a shorter alternative trail that reaches the Rochers de Fiz using the Passage du Derochoir.
