The Pointe Noire de Pormenaz is an incredible rocky summit high above Servoz on the montagne de Pormenaz. It offers an incredible view point right across from Mont Blanc and a 360 degree vista of all the surrounding mountain ranges including the Aiguille Rouges and the Rochers de Fiz. The very beautiful Lac de Pormenaz is located on its western flank about 400 meters downhill. The summit itself consists of a grassy plateau with an information sign and a nice cairn. The actual summit is a rocky point which can be reached via a short trail from the grassy crest.

We got an amazing trail starting at Servoz and climbing up to Lac Pormenaz after which there is an option to add on a climb and descend of the Pointe Noire de Pormenaz as an out and back. From there, the trail continues on to the Alpage de Pormenaz before descending down back to Servoz on the southern flank of the montagne de Pormenaz. This is really a spectacular route that we cannot recommend enough. The nearest fuelling station is the Refuge de Moede Anterne which is always worth a visit.
