Col Cornu is a high mountain pass located in the Aiguille Rouge natural reserve. The mountain lake Lac Cornu is very nearby with a short trail leading you to the lake and back. A short traverse brings you to the very nearby Col de la Gliere from where the trail continue on towards the Index.
Col Cornu gives very nice views towards the Mont Blanc massif on one side, and towards the Pointe Anterne on the other side. There is one main trail running through Col Cornu which runs between Planpraz and Flegere using a higher route than the grand balcon sud. In winter Col Cornu is part of a popular ski touring route that takes you from the Cornu ski lift over the Col Cornu and Col de la Gliere and down towards Flegere.
