Là-Haut Flégère is a snack bar located next to the Index Chair Lift at an impressive altitude of 2400 meters above Chamonix. It is is a take-away snack bar and does not offer any indoor or covered seating. They do have a fantastic outdoor sitting area facing the Mont Blanc Massif with great views. They pride themselves on using only local products and they serve a variety of sandwhiches, pancakes, ice cream and alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. What is quite funny is that they have a pretty professional looking pétanque court. If you are unfamiliar, pétanque is a popular game in France played with metal balls with the general goal of getting your balls as close as possible to the target ball. So its a cool little add-on to their snack bar.

The easiest way to reach La-Haut is by taking the Index Chair Lift after taking the Flegere Gondola from Les Praz. From La-Haut you can take the trail in a south-western direction towards  Col de la Gliere, Col Cornu, Lacs Noirs and Lac Cornu. We have a detailed trail description for this trail.
