Les Praz de Chamonix is a small town roughly 3 kilometers north from Chamonix. It is easily reached from Chamonix city center in a 30 minute casual walk with multiple trails and paths running between the two. Les Praz has a very nice chapel right in the center of the town on a large grass field with very nice views of Les Drus and the Mont Blanc massif. 

The town has a small commercial center with hotels, sport and rental shops, cafes and restaurants. The Flegere lift station is located near the center of Les Praz with a nearby bus stop. Flegere also has its own train station. The Chamonix Golf course is also located in Flegere in between Les Praz and Les Bois. Les Praz gives easy access to many of the most popular trails in the Chamonix Valley, including the low altitude trails of the Petite Balcon Sud and Petite Balcon Nord and some of the biggest actractions like the Lac Blanc.

Overall, Les Praz is one of the most popular places to stay in the Chamonix valley with easy access to Chamonix and easy access to some of the best outdoor activities in the valley.
